Mohamed came to Toronto in 1994, graduated from Western Tech High School in 1999, and enrolled at Seneca College in 2000 to study computer networking. He is currently a Journeyman Insulator with Union Local 110. A major accomplishment in Mohamed's life was fundraising for the construction of a hospital in his home city in 2017, which now serves 30,000 people. Mohamed founded the organization (originally Garacad Development Society) in 2013.
Keyf Farah is a mother of six who came to Canada almost 15 years ago. She returned to continuing education at NorQuest College in 2014, studying early childhood development. Since 2015, Keyf has worked as a daycare teacher educating and caring for young children, and is currently completing a teaching assistant course at Glenbow College.
Safia Warsame came to Canada in 1993. She received her education at NorQuest College and currently works for Alberta Health Services as a nurse. A proud mother and one of the organization's founding members, Safia is committed to fulfilling her community's needs and providing extra support to Somali youth.
