Meet the Board of Directors and Our Staff
MOHAMED ALI
President and Founder
Mohamed came to Toronto in 1994, graduated from Western-Tech High School in 1999, and enrolled at Seneca College in 2000 to study computer networking. Mohamed is currently a Journeyman Insulator within Union Local 110. A major accomplishment in Mohamed’s life was when he fundraised for the construction of the only hospital in the city he was born in 2017 that serves 30,000 people. Mohamed founded Garacad Development Society in 2013.
KEYF FARAH
Director
Keyf Farah is mother of 6 and came to Canada almost 15 years ago. She started continuing education and attended Norquest College in 2014 and studied early childcare development. Since 2015, Keyf has been working as a daycare teacher educating and caring for young children. She is currently working while also taking a teaching assistant course at Glenbow College.
SAFIA WARSAME
Treasure
Safia Warsame came to Canada in 1993. She got her education at Norquest College, and currently works for AHS as a nurse. She is a proud mother, and one of the first members of Garacad Development Society. Safia’s goal is to help fulfill her community’s needs, and provide extra support to Somali youth. She plans to do this by continuing to work alongside Garacad Development Society.
